LEADERSHIP: Choice Making

By Ali Kasim

It is better and more pleasing that truth wins rather than the majority. The time for complaining on the bad economy of the country; the increasing unemployment rate, the ever accreting  death tolls, the high rate of corruption, and the likes is coming to an abrupt end whether you like it or not. The president of this country come 2015 is who you choose.
It is only proper to know who you are voting. It is your right to know the truth. It is you and I that determine the leaders of Nigeria. It so foolish that you don’t expect to reap what you have sown. The time for change is come.
Vote who you are convinced is the right person that will dry your tears.
I will advise strongly that as you make your criteria for choosing who to vote  come 2015, religion, ethnicity or the ‘majority’ should not be anywhere near your criteria. That  your entire family is voting so and so doesn’t mean he is the correct person. What makes him the correct person is how determined, courageous, intelligent, truthful and honest you think he is. As far as we know, we are left with two candidates. The leadership of this country would be placed on the shoulder of one of the two Great men;  President Goodluck Jonathan or General Muhammadu Buhari (RTD).
What we aught to do now is some fair research on these two candidates. Who will work for Nigerians? Who will take Nigeria to the next level? Who is capable of ensuring our lives are secured?... these are obvious questions these candidates must be tested with. If you vote for someone that will operate on “what I think should be done” rather than “what is supposed to be done” and then when he displays his true colours and you complain and you insult and curse, then I do wonder who is being fooled. We are tired of hearing negative things at the wrong time. You opted for that in the first place, didn't you? Why the complaints? How can you plant guinea corn and expect to harvest corn? This is to inform us that the leadership of Nigeria largely depends on us – the voters. The 2015 election is fast approaching. We are the decision makers. let us make good decisions. Decisions that will better Nigeria. This is our "King time". We are now kings. It is what we want that will happen.
So don’t drop the return. Fight for your right. Its your right to vote who you want to vote for. If they bribe you, don’t ignore! Pocket it but vote for whom your heart chooses as the right candidate. The sad thing is that it seems that not everyone who is willing and by Nigeria law, able to vote will have the opportunity to do so. Not everyone owns a voter’s card.  Some of the officials who were distributing the already made cards were asked on when fresh registration of candidates will commence and they did not hesitate to make empty promises to register people in our area. It was no news that they did not! Many people are complaining. Those who had registered are no exceptions. They couldn't get there cards even after seeing their names. God help us choose the right candidate to lead and represent us.
